Mafia 3 set in Louisiana

According to an image posted by AllGamesaBeta (via EuroGamer) the in-development Mafia III is to take place in Louisiana, USA.

The image in question pertains to a casting call for an untitled Take-Two video game production, which is on the hunt for actors to be utilized for voice over, motion capture and facial scans.

The most interesting part is that it mentions three characters, all of whom were born in Louisiana -- Franklin, Tony and Mickey.

20-year-old Franklin is a chap who “knows how to get the job done at any cost,” while Tony, who is in his early thirties, happens to be “a genius with numbers and statistics who runs sports betting operations.”

Finally, Mickey is the runt of the litter, described as a street hustler in his late teens who “likes to run his mouth. Mickey has a bad habit of taking credit for bigger jobs and making himself seem higher up in the criminal ladder than he really is. When confronted with this, he reverts back to the scared teenager he really is."

Mafia III isn’t mentioned explicitly, though it isn’t hard to imagine the crime caper returning with a free-roaming New Orleans for you to soak up.

2K Czech, who worked on the previous Mafia titles, ran into a spot of bother recently, with publisher 2K stating it had “relocated and consolidated” its Czech team at Prague to Brno. In addition, “some development resources” had been transferred from Prague and Brno to 2K’s California studio.

With layoffs soon hitting 2K Czech, it is now believed that the third installment in the Mafia franchise is being worked on at 2K's California studio.

Whatever the case is, a formal announcement on Mafia III’s state has yet to be issued, so don’t expect to see the game on shelves any time soon.
