Driveclub hits PlayStation 4 on October 7

It turns out “in the weeks to come” actually meant tomorrow, as Sony and Evolution Studios have announced the official release date for DriveClub. The news is revealed at the end of this trailer, which has all footage captured from a PS4:

Sony has unleashed a new trailer for PlayStation 4-exclusive racer DriveClub, which confirms a U.S. release date of October 7, 2014 for the long-delayed project.

The game will arrive in Europe on October 8 and in the U.K. on October 10, the platform holder added.

Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS), revealed on the EU PlayStation Blog that Paul Rustchynsky - aka Rushy - has been attached as Game Director since February 2014.

DriveClub is in development at Evolution Studios, and was originally due to launch alongside the PS4 at launch last November before Sony delayed it into 'early 2014.' It was recently stated that the title had 'gone back to the drawing board.'
