DriveClub PS+ Edition Details

Includes 10 Cars & 5 Tracks, Trophies Still Unlockable, More

Last year, DriveClub Senior Designer Ben Gouldstone said, “The only difference between the PS Plus edition and the boxed retail is that there’s a slightly scaled down version of content.”

Well, responding to a comment on the EU PS Blog today, Game Director Paul Rustchynsky revealed how many cars and tracks will be available in the PS+ Edition:
The PlayStation Plus Edition hasn’t changed. It’s hardly a demo because you get access to all of the game’s features online and offline. The difference is that you only have 10 cars and you can only race in one country (which gives you access to 5 tracks with 11 distinct variants).
Over on IGN, Rustchynsky talked about the PlayStation Plus Edition, revealing that you’ll still be able to unlock trophies:
The PS Plus Edition will still be out, along with the Blu-Ray and digital edition, and what it’ll offer is a cut-down version of the content. So you won’t get all the cars, you won’t get all the tracks, but you still get all the key features: you’ll be able to play online, multiplayer races, you’ll be able to join a club, create connections, attend challenges and even play through part of the single player game and unlock Trophies as well.
Asked about why you’ll only be able to play through part of the single player, Rustchynsky answered, “Simply because the PlayStation Plus Editiondoesn’t include all of the cars and tracks that you’ll need to complete DriveClub Tour.”

Rustchynsky also talked to Game Informer about the PlayStation Plus Edition:

The PlayStation Plus [version] will still be available day-and-date in October with the Blu-ray. It will feature all the key things such as multiplayer, the ability to join/form clubs, send challenges, play partly DriveClub single-player campaign – The Tour, as it’s called. The only thing that PlayStation Plus limits you on is the amount of content. You won’t have access to all the cars, you won’t have access to all the tracks.
